 Designer John Koletic combines highly patterned natural edged wood with austere elements of modern design and traditional hand crafted joinery. Each piece of furniture (including dining, end, sofa and coffee tables) has a unique one of a kind wood top set on custom designed bases. The result: a warm yet edgy modern design that can stand alone as an outstanding piece of artwork or complement a timeless room setting with just the right amount of warmth, practicality and appeal.

Every piece of furniture is individually designed, handcrafted and signed by John. Dependent on world market availability, he uses a variety of salvaged woods including black poplar burl, walnut, buckeye burl, redwood, box elder as well as exotic tulipwood, mahoganies and bubinga.
Tung oil enhances and preserves the wood’s natural colour and beauty, and a topcoat of lacquer, wax or oil is buffed to a warm lustre.
Burl wood has been used in furniture and décor items for over 2000 years in prized decorative tops for boxes. It became popular in the late 19th century when craftsmen in Britain used it in fine furniture. Like a diamond in the rough, the beauty of each piece of burl wood can only be released through skillful and artistic cutting.
